The Arrival

After reading The Arrival it gave me a new insight to wordless comics and to comics in general.  To be honest I can't even remember the last time I even read a comic or even looked at one, although when I do pick up a comic I rarely read it and I only just look at the pretty pictures.  So I guess you could say that The Arrival is my type of comic due to the fact that there's no text that I have to read, plus after reading it and noticing the beautiful illustrations, I think that having text would just ruin it.  Each illustration was so detailed and explained what was going on so clearly that if it did have text I don't think the viewer would need it due to the detail of the images.  Due to the fact that this was one of the first comics/wordless comics I would like to comment on the style of the images and say that besides their illustrative quality, that they also have a very delicate, fine art quality about them. The detail also shows me that each image can function on it's own if that was the case.
